The snow in  Silver Star shows no signs of going anywhere soon and it would be very tempting to have an Easter interlude there. Unfortunately, we need to wrap up from January and organise next year’s conference.

Planning 2017

The theme for 2017 is “Flow”. We’ve started reading the best-selling book of the same name and are looking forward to two weeks of conference in Silver Star in the weeks commencing 2 and 9 January.

We are also working with SkiJapan to hold another Hokkaido meeting, this time in Kiroro from 17 to 20 January 2017. This will suit those wanting to experience a different Japanese destination but still wanting the amazing powder snow.  If you are interested please let us know. APE 2016 delegates are, by and large, back home digesting the wealth of material presented and discussed in Silver Star over two weeks of conference. Summary proceedings will emerge over coming months as an aide-memoire.

We are setting dates for 2017 with Silver Star locked in for the  weeks from 2 January and 9 January.

We are also proposing a 3rd week in Rusutsu, Japan, building on our successful 2015 experience.

The theme for the 2017 conference series is “Flow” – practically the opposite of this years “Disruption”. Start your mental engines!

APE 2016 is only six weeks away, so it is time to start unveiling the program.  The very first  draft is available here. It is looking very promising but of course we welcome suggestions and additions!

One of the important signings for 2016 is our musical accompaniment for the conference dinners.  We’re really pleased to be able to announce that the BackTrax Duo will be performing for delegates’ pleasure. A ‘teaser’ is available here.

APE programme 2015 ver 2

Ski’s crossed, see you at the Week 1 Icebreaker tomorrow (Monday 5th January at 4:30)!

The Silver Star webcams are showing off the great start to winter and this is our cue to get the program into shape.  We have some wonderful speakers coming forward and it promises to be another great event.

In addition to our regular Silver Star meetings, we have a one-off in Rusutsu, Japan. There has been great interest in this meeting and we are looking forward to returning to Japan for the first time since 2011.

The dates for 2015 for Silver Star are 5-9 and 12-16 January.  Dates for our 2015  session at Rusutsu are 19-23 January.

The theme for 2015 is RISK – don’t miss out!

Thankfully our human frontal cortex allows us to imagine ourselves in another time and place.  As the mercury climbs into the high 30s again today, I’m thinking bracing alpine air and the energy that it brings with it.

The Dolomites (Davos without the ego) meeting (APE programme Dolomites 2014 ver2) was highly praised. Spectacular location and excellent speakers.

Now we are preparing for APE 2015. Dates are set for Silver Star – 5-9 & 12-16 January – so get your diaries out and lock it in.

The Theme – Risk

A wonderful first week of APE 2014.  It kicked off with an inspiring keynote from geothermal expert Eric Dickie and discussion of energy futures, moving through a series of cutting edge medical presentations and then finishing with a moving introduction to the First Step Program, legal insights into mediation, business opportunities in medicine and key insurance and finance recommendations relevant to all professionals.  As the icing on the cake we enjoyed a fabulous dinner with classic songs from Kelowna artist Floyd Vedan and a testing team building session on mountain.  It will be a difficult week to top but we’ll give it a red hot go!
