“Finally!” I hear you say. Summaries of the workshops given in January are available. I look forward to your feedback.

I remind you that short bios and photos of the speakers are also available at titles and bios
APE, in the person of Rod and Vida, will be attending ski shows in Melbourne (19 May), Brisbane (25 May) and Sydney (26 May). We’d love to chat with you if you are able to come along to talk snow.

Start planning your trip. Dates for Silver Star conferences are set:
January 6-10 and 13-17
The theme is “Energy”. We all have it, use it, waste it, want more of it, and depend on it. Come to Silver Star in January 2014 for yours. We are counting down now!
In the meantime, we will be coming to a town near you during the snow travel shows in May and June. Look forward to catching up then. If you have contacts who want to discuss what Silver Star and APE have to offer, this could be a great opportunity…
In 2014 we will be rewarding our loyal APE attendees. We’ll also offer special rewards for referring new delegates. So book your travel and tell your friends!
Sadly, we are nearly at the end of our 2013 Programme. Congratulations to all delegates and speakers.
Details of speakers are at titles and bios and the programme outline is at Programme. We will soon be providing delegates with short summaries of the presentations.
If you have any comments or requests, please contact us via the contacts page or on our Canadian cell phone 250 550 4939
There is lots of activity in the APE world as we head towards the beginning of January. The conference theme of “Shibboleths in professional life” has been announced and a draft programme is well underway. It is not too late to register and even participate as a speaker.
If you are wanting to glean an idea of who and what APE presentations cover, have a look at the summary from 2012 - Program Summary (PDF) and background on some of our presenters see Speakers 2012 (PDF).
At APE we tend to agree with H.G. Wells when he said “Every time I see an adult on a bicycle, I no longer despair for the future of the human race”. AustCycle has huge potential to relieve despair. It licences AustCycle providers and runs training programs for cycling teachers around the country. Find out more at our January conferences.
As the antarctic winds rip through Canberra it is hard not to think of getting to the next APE where “cold” means lots of white stuff on the ground and ideas in the air. Fortunately, we have a couple of other cues to that special time coming up in the New Year when we can challenge ourselves physically and stimulate ourselves intellectually.
There is no better time than now to start thinking about travel arrangements. Great deals are available through TravelPlan Ski – you might like to head to their shows coming up from the end of May.
For many who have been APE already, you will be familiar with Spike Kenny from Silver Star Snow Sports School who does an annual introduction at our IceBreaker sessions. Spike not only got his level 3 CSIA certification this year but was also named in Ski Pro Mag as one of the Canadian instructors of the year. Well deserved!
Also coming out with some good news are the guys from Interschools. They have just released their new brochure. Due to ongoing strength in the $A they have actually been able to reduce their prices on early bird enrolments. So get in now to book a place for family or self in their excellent programmes.

Online registration for the 2013 Canadian conferences is now open go to the online registration page and register for Silver Star 2013. Alternatively, contact the convenor via the contacts page and we can register you the “traditional” way! Early Bird registration rates currently apply.
There are two sequential weeks of conferences in 2013 (7-11 Jan and 14-18 Jan) both in Silver Star. Each week will be a standalone conference with some common elements. If you wish to participate at both weeks, the second week is discounted by 50%.
Register now for a great development experience. Feel free to contact us via the contacts page to discuss any aspect of attending or presenting at APE 2013.
