We are not able to offer tax advice except of a very general nature.  You should check with your professional tax advisor as to the deductibility of expenses related to attending an APE conference.

Expenses that might be eligible deductions include:

  • registration fees
  • accommodation expenses
  • travel expenses
Because of the multidisciplinary nature of APE conferences, we have not sought recognition for the purposes of claiming CPD from professional bodies.  Depending on your affiliation, you may be able to claim some recognition but you will need to seek clarification from the relevant accreditation authority.

Depending on your particular circumstances you may wish to do all your arrangements yourself, rely on existing travel agent relationships or take advantage of the expertise of specialist packagers such as:

  • TravelPlan
  • Blue Powder Tours
  • Mogul Ski World
  • Skimax
  • Value tours
  • Dive Fish Snow Travel
  • Summit Ski Tours
  • SkiJapan

To date we have not received sponsorship. All conference costs are met from registration fees.  This means we strive to make sure that delegates come first. If this changes, we undertake to make full disclosure of sponsor contributions.

SilverStar resort provides support for the APE conference ice-breaker sessions and assistance with marketing.

Typically APE sessions run for a 3 to 4 hour block in the afternoons. We try to leave the mornings free for delegates to take advantage of the location.

APE has partnerships with a number of programs that run in SilverStar – in particular through the snow sports school – see the APE REC Academy. Other programs are available via the SilverStar web site – see:
